Man in the Iron Mask, The
Man in the Iron Mask, The (1998)

IMDB rating: 5.90

Plot: In 1638 Queen Anne of France gives Birth to a boy, who will inherit the throne one day. But, only known to few, there is a twin brother born minutes later. 22 years later, King Louis XIV rules the country of France, but due to his lifestyle and the costs of war, people are forced to suffer hunger and poverty. Of the Musketeers, who had served his father Louis XIII faithfully, only one is still on the king’s side: D’Artagnan, the Capitain of the king’s guards. His three companions Aramis, Athos and Porthos have retired into civil life long ago. One day on a royal party, the young and unliked king gets a crush on Christine. This young lady is the fiance of soldier Raoul, the son of Athos. Without further ado, the king has Raoul recruited and sent to war, so that he himself can take care of her. Soon Raoul dies in combat and the king has him out of the way. But Athos, Aramis and Porthos think of a plan to take revenge on the king. Aramis points out that there is a man in an iron mask in a very secure prison, and that this man’s existance can solve all present problems. So they free the king’s hidden twin brother, and tell him who he is, as he of course feels free of guilt and has no idea whatsoever why he was imprisoned for 6 years with this mask forged around his head. The plan now is to replace the evil king with his brother at a masquerade party held soon. Only D’Artagnan still is guarding the king and so he has to turn against his old friends…

Terrible.

Banned cards and poor card choices as well as what looks like very little synergy.

Magician of Faith has been banned for ages.

Roid cards are poor in their own deck, they are absolutely attrocius outside their theme.

Curse of Dragon is one of the poorest cards that require a tribute ever.

Life gain cards are poor outside a deck with Fire Princess in or a Psychic deck.

The Equips are poor at best, Fusion Sword only works on a handful of your monsters as well as Dragon Treasure falling into the same category. If you insist on Equips, have ones that will work on any monster instead.

All in all, 1/10, this would get thrashed by almost any noob with one of the newer structure decks.

Road House 2: Last Call
Road House 2: Last Call (2006)

IMDB rating: 4.40

Plot: While he’s deep undercover in New York, DEA agent Shane Tanner, the son of a legendary cooler named Dalton, learns that his uncle Nate Tanner got beat up by a group of men because he doesn’t want to sell the Black Pelican, his bar in Tyree, Louisiana. Shane takes off for Louisiana to find out who attacked Nate. Shane decides to stay in Nate’s house for the time being, and run the Black Pelican in Nate’s absence, much to the dismay of former Black Pelican cooler Bill “Wild Bill” Decarie. Wild Bill wants to buy the Black Pelican since it’s located in a prime location for running drugs. The Black Pelican is close to the border, it’s between Florida and Texas, and it’s in an area where drugs can be smuggled pretty much undetected. But Shane doesn’t want to sell, and damages the numerous thugs that Bill sends his way. Also, Dalton was murdered years ago, and Shane still wonders who killed Dalton. When Shane was a rookie state trooper in Tyree, Shane had come home from work one night, and found Dalton fatally shot. After that, Shane left town and became a DEA agent. Now, Wild Bill’s boss, Miami crime syndicate kingpin Victor Crost, decides that it’s time to handle matters personally, because Wild Bill’s men are not doing a good job of it. Shane is soon faced with impossible odds and a low number of staff members at the Black Pelican. To rid Louisiana of Victor, Wild Bill, and their organization, Shane teams up with local school teacher Beau Hampton, who is a regular at the Black Pelican.

What dog is right for me?? =] Please help!!?
after my yorkie died last year, i REALLY want a new dog. But not another yorkie because i don’t want to find myself comparing or accidentally calling it my other dog’s name.
So can you think of a dog that you think is right?

-My mom and I live in a fairly large apartment in the suburbs. It has a large space especially for dogs and there is a long road where i like to take jogs and i think it would be perfect for taking it for walks.

-i have had 3 dogs before so im pretty experienced. And no, i won’t use any old stuff from my other dogs on a new dog that i will get [;

-When i leave for school and my mom leaves for work, my mom usually leaves the door open just incase i forget my keys or my purse gets stolen, and its much easier to get inside. We kind of live in the corner of the hallway and the door is sort of hidden, plus this town has a very low crime rate, so a burglary is unlikely. However, i am home alone a lot too so i would like a medium-smaller large sized dog: one that is difficult to steal in case someone DOES try to get in the house and one that barks at strangers but isn't bark-happy. Nothing TOO big though. A large dog won't be suited for an apartment.

-Im 14 almost 15

-i want a god that isn't too hyper but likes excersize.

-must be friendly and affectionate! Can't be mean/aggressive!

-Should be easy to train, and i will be spending time to train it.

-Minimal shedding would be great, but not necessary

-I love "beautiful" dogs. I mean, all dogs are beautiful, but idk how to explain it. I don't like labs or the look of pugs (even though my friend has a pug and its the sweetest thing ever) but i LOVE Australian shepherds and white fluffy dogs

-For some reason i want a white fluffy dog [= But i like a lot of other breeds too

-I am very good at training dogs, so that won't be a problem [= (Ever since my 1st dog i used to watch a lot of dog training shows and i ready many dog training books)

-I like the Japanese Spits, the Samoyed, the Japanese Akita, American Eskimo, and the Havanese, are any of these breeds right for me?

******I know this is long, but i would LOVE your opinion! if you dnt know how to help me, but you read this whole thing, can you star it so some of your contacts can see it? Thanks =]
p.s. I leave school at 7, then my mom sometimes leaves for work at different times. i come home from school around 2:30 so the dog will be by itself for some time. Some of you think this is a bad idea, but i dont think it is because the dog NEEDS to learn to handle being by itself without freaking out. I mean, if we always left it with someone, then one day my mom and i leave to go to a restaurant, it will spazz out! And obviously im going to take it for a walk every morning before school.

thankss<33
p.s. by "door open" i mean unlocked…not litterally open haha [=

Siberians and/or Malamutes are NOT apartment dogs!!! I would also stay away from the Samoyeds and Aussies for an apartment because they are all working breeds. Also, the Nordics are VERY vocal and shed like crazy. Of all the features you listed, I think a Shiba Inu would be a perfect match. They are not very vocal, have short, dense coats, are weary of strangers, very aloof, and great little guard dogs. They also don’t mind being alone, and are extrmemely clean dogs. They are one of the smaller members of the Japanese Spitz family, but don’t have the yappiness of the Eskimos, etc.. And they look like Mini Akitas! :) Good luck!

Ruth K | Nov 07, 2009

I would recomend an Alaskan malamute, White husky/ alaskan malamute mix (they’re beautiful white fluffy with blue eyes) or American eskimo if you want something a bit smaller. Very smart dogs

There are many things to consider when choosing a puppy, including which breed or type, and the optimal age of acquisition. It’s important to make sure the dog you want fits with you and your family’s lifestyle.

Maybe a white pomeranian however you spell it, they don’t need a whole lot of exercise, if you train it well, I don’t think it’ll bark that much, they’re so cute and are pretty nice apartment pets, I don’t think it’ll be able to take care of its self at home though, you could get two of them and a spare room, this may not be the best choice but I think if you’ve chosen a yorkie, you’ll be fine with pomeranians

Do you believe the Apollo 11 crew really landed on the Moon?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

sometimes I wonder if they really did or if the footage was fabricated to 1 up Russia in the "Space Race" plus it just seems a little hard to believe that we could do it way back then but haven’t been back since..that was a tin can compared to today’s shuttles..plus how was the U.S. flag waving in an environment with no air to blow it? I’m no conspiracy theorist but I smell a Rat.
zeda I cant believe your comparing a car driving state to state to a shuttle flying damn near to the moon. thats apples and oranges
come on people dont be so gullible I mean maybe they did but unless you were there with Nasa at the time..you dont really know you only know what you have read or seen on tv. Do you have any idea how much of the history we were taught in school 20 years ago turned to be in-accurate information? I mean maybe we did..but I dont really know and honestly..neither do any of you unless you were in the NASA control room at the time..and I doubt that.
Nick you coulda just answered the question without being an asshole..thats the problem with our country people like you who feel it necessary to try to insult people because they think differently than you..it’s pathetic..grow up
I shoulda never asked this question..you keep talking about conspiracy theorists..im no conspiracy theorists these are my thoughts some of you are just giving me stuff you read..I could’a looked that up myself..I asked what YOU thought not what you were told to think.

Yes, and so did Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17. The Apollo spacecraft were built to go to the Moon. The space shuttles were not. They were built as reusable craft to go back and forth to the space station and perform other missions in Earth orbit.
The SIX manned moon landings weren’t faked. 400,000 people were involved in making the Apollo 11 moon landing happen. The Apollo Moon landings were among the most completely documented and observed events in history. The conspiracy "theories" that claim otherwise are a bunch of nonsense without even a single compelling piece of evidence. Most of the questions raised are based on ignorance of basic physics and optics.

Video special effects were in their infancy in the late 60’s so that faking a landing on the Moon would probably have been more difficult than actually going there, and it seems highly unlikely that the hundreds or even thousands of people who would have had to be involved in such a conspiracy would have kept it a secret for so long. Ultimately you’ll have to decide for yourself if the marginal evidence offered to show this was all a hoax is compelling enough to overturn the overwhelming evidence that it actually occurred, but make sure you check the facts carefully, you need to be a little skeptical of the skeptics, too. For more detailed debunking of this ill-conceived notion, see sources.

Flag Waving
The answer is, it isn’t waving. It looks like that because of the way the flag was deployed. The flag hangs from a horizontal rod which telescopes out from the vertical one. In Apollo 11, they couldn’t get the rod to extend completely, so the flag didn’t get stretched fully. It has a ripple in it, like a curtain that is not fully closed. In later flights, the astronauts didn’t fully deploy it on purpose because they liked the way it looked. In other words, the flag looks like it is waving because the astronauts wanted it to look that way. Ironically, they did their job too well. It appears to have fooled a lot of people into thinking it waved.

The reasons that we haven’t been back are cuts in funding, we had done what we set out to do, and we had refocused on the space station and the shuttles. We are going back in 2020 and establishing a lunar base as part of Project Constellation. We will be using new modular craft, the Orion, with the Ares launch vehicles, and the Altair lunar lander. There is a projected manned mission to Mars as well.

Bella | Jul 16, 2009

Yes, they really did. And it matters not how many people scream ‘fake’ and ‘conspiracy’, it won’t change it.
Stupidity and ignorance are their own reward.

Doug
doug_donaghue | Jul 16, 2009

Yes I believe they actually landed on the moon. Can you imagine how many people would have to be paid to be quiet still after all of these years? Waaayyy toooo many.
BP | Jul 16, 2009

Yes. The flag was due to dust being blown by the explosions inside the rockets as the astronauts launched off the lunar surface. And anyone with a high power laser can use the reflectors the astronauts left on the moon to prove that humans have been there.
The Psitasid | Jul 16, 2009

"…that was a tin can compared to today’s shuttles…" That’s like saying that a 1917 Model T Ford couldn’t possibly get from New York City to Chicago because a 2009 Lexus is a much more modern automobile.

"…how was the U.S. flag waving in an environment with no air to blow it…" The flag was *not* waving, it was held upright by thin braces embedded within the field. The only time the flag appears to "wave" is when it was being planted, or when one of the crewmen brushed against it.

Before you fall into the trap set by the manned-lunar-landing hoaxsters, do yourself a favor and visit this website =>http://www.clavius.org/
Zeta Reticuli | Jul 16, 2009

The flag is not "waving", but has a stick through the top to hold it open. As for what could be done then technologically, research the numerous advances made in aviation from WW 2 to the 1960s. The SR-71 is a prime example — a Mach 3 airplane designed in the 1950s. The B-52 was designed largely in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The XB-70 was a Mach 3 bomber designed in the same period. Many other US missile and airplane examples could be mentioned, and then we could talk about Russian advances, which were tremendous. "Today’s shuttles" first flew in the 1980s, so that means they were designed in the 1970s, just after the Apollo program. So, there is no rat to smell.
flyboy551 | Jul 16, 2009

Yes, they really did land.

"The rod to hold the flag out horizontally would not extend fully, so the flag ended up with a slight waviness, giving the appearance of being windblown."
Sarah J | Jul 16, 2009

The last time I answered this question… and boy, has this question been asked a LOT… my answer:

"Of course I believe it! I watched it happen. It is silly to think you could pay off hundreds of thousands of space agency workers and fool millions of people with 1960s special effects."

and it got deleted. I guess you can’t say "its silly" on Yahoo.

That’s silly.
Kitty Likes Sushi | Jul 16, 2009

Back then the Brits and French developed a supersonic airliner called Concorde.

THERE ARE NO SUPERSONIC AIRLINERS FLYING TODAY.

You see how silly your argument is?

Apollo and Concorde were scrapped for similar reasons – cost.

Get educated please. That flag stuff and no stars in the sky has been done absolutely to death.

You wouldn’t be a creationist as well would you?

Do you know there are more cranks in the USA who say the landings were fake than in any other country. Yet they did it. You should be proud.

get a life and read some real science.
nick s | Jul 16, 2009

I would much rather believe the government with all it’s faults, than a bunch of gormless conspiracy theorists. I mean if the conspiracy people had one single shred of genuine evidence that it never happened they might just have some credibility, but if they have, they are keeping it secret because they haven’t produced any yet!

As for the waving flag, come on, have you never heard of inertia? Of course it waved after the astronauts moved it, as it behaves like a pendulum and swings a little due to it’s own weight.

The Saturn V which launched the Apollo was far more powerful than the space shuttle. Rocketry has not advanced much since then, so it would be just as hard to et there now. Computer power has advanced greatly, but rockets run on fuel power, not computer power.
Quadrillian | Jul 17, 2009

It is not a matter of belief, it is a matter of metifulously documented historical fact. If you believe we haven’t been back since Apollo 11 you need to do some very basic research and review your conclusions. Try looking up Apollo 12 through to Apollo 17 for starters.

And the flag was NOT waving, for heaven’s sake. Have you ever actually WATCHED the footage?

melted plastic in oven.. inhaling really bad?

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

this is terrible. i was preparing a few things for pre-thanksgiving, (my first at my new apt with my boyfriend, making dinner for my parents) and i was putting the groceries away.
i put an aluminum turkey roaster with a thin flimsy plastic lid in the oven to store for a minute.
i started making cornbread and turned the oven to 400 to preheat.
i went in 10 minutes later and notcied black smoke.
i called in my boyfriend and started freaking out, he opened the oven adn a billow of black smoke came out.
we didnt breathe it in (i dont THINK) at first
adn after i realized waht was going on i opened all the windows, moved my animals to another room and put a ton of fans on..
i left the oven shut until it cooled off then i opened it to air it out.
i still tried not to breathe anywhere except my bedroom.

a) how can i completely remove the melted plastic from the bottom of the oven

b) if i get most of it removed, can i still cook in it tomorrow? is this unsafe?? ive heard of food tasting like plastic after this sort of thing.

c) i am finding my breathing to be different. maybe im imagining a weird irritation in my throat. my bf hasnt mentioned anything though. am i in danger from the fumes i inhaled

Is my avatar offensive?

I have two cat question for you?
I have two cats.Noodles(Pasta’s mommy)and Pasta(Noodles’ kitten).Noodles is about one year old and Pasta is like a 7 month old kitten.Noodles is a Gray Tabby/Domestic Shorthair. And Pasta is not a breeded cat.She is just a black kitten.MY FIRST QUESTION IS:Noodles is an adult now.But she is like a "Scaredy Cat".She runs away all the time. When she is eating food in the house and she sees someone move, she runs through her cat door.I don’t get it.She used to be so full of energy at Pasta’s age.And to think that she is still an out door cat.I’m gonna get her a shower tomorrow so I don’t know how shes gonna take it.But Noodles is not an agressive type of cat.She won’t bite or scratch you on purpose for anything. Why is she always so scared of everything?MY SECOND QUESTION:Pasta is starting to mature a little bit.She is always bringing rats into the house. My grandparents are gonna find out sooner or later when they come for dinner one day and Pasta is gonna bring one in.They will tell my dad to give her away or sell her or something. And Pasta is down to her third rat this week. She used to just catch lizards when she was younger.Everyone in my family is starting to hate Pasta. And sooner or later my dad will not want to keep her anymore.I would still want to keep her thought cuz I love my Pasta. The floor gets all dirty whenever Pasta brings an animal in the house. And whenever Pasta brings in a rat we wait for her to go throught the cat flapper into the garage again so she be trapped in the garage.Because we dont want her comig back inside with the rat.I feel terrible about doing this to her.I know that it is just instinct and it is just a sign that she is maturing, but how do I tell her that it’s bad?And how do i maker her stop?Thanx for takin the time to read and answer!
For all of you who think my home is rat infested-my neighborhood is like a forest so there are probably rats hiding.I mean, how do rats get in your house at first. They had to comefrom somewhere.Rats travel everywhere.

jawa rakanu | Nov 21, 2009

Cats have their own personalities and they generally aren’t easy to train. If your cat is bringing rats into the house, you should be asking yourself why you have rats. Probably you have a lot of junk laying around to make good hiding places. Clean up around the house and outside so rats can’t set up housekeeping, and your cat won’t bring in any more rats.

Why is the world do you want to bathe a cat? You shouldn’t ever have to do that.
dbraunofva | Nov 21, 2009

I don’t know how to stop Pasta from bringing dead animals in the house, but I know why he/she is doing it. It is a thank-you gift. I know it’s a little disgusting, but that’s what cat’s do. Maybe a spray bottle?

is there any way you can keep them both indoors?
that way they won’t get dirty and there won’t be any rats coming in.
BlueGreen | Nov 21, 2009

Keeping your cats indoor would solve your problem with the rats–and yes-I’d wonder why there are so many rats around your place–I’ve seriously never seen a rat around any of the homes I’ve lived in….what is attracting them? I don’t think you’ll be able to train catching prey out of them–it is a basic survival instinct and would just frighten the cat(s). don’t try to give that cat a shower–you will terrify her and she will not appreciate it! it will make her more nervous–as for her being timid–she might be somewhat feral-or going that way if she’s been outside all her life–i have one that won’t let me near her-and its been 4 yrs!!!! she’s very comfy in the house-but doesn’t trust humans at all—I have a feeling that my neighbor chased her with a broom when she was a kitten–but that’s just a guess…no telling what experiences she’s had outside.good luck!

ps–I love their names!!!
