Human Nature – DivX Version (Normal Quality), DVD (Good Quality), PDA Version
|
IMDB rating: 6.20 Plot: A philosophical burlesque, Human Nature follows the ups and downs of an obsessive scientist, a female naturalist, and the man they discover, born and raised in the wild. As scientist Nathan (Robbins) trains the wild man, Puff (Ifans) in the ways of the world – starting with table manners – Nathan’s lover Lila (Arquette) fights to preserve the man’s simian past, which represents a freedom enviable to most. In the power struggle that ensues, an unusual love triangle emerges exposing the perversities of the human heart and the idiosyncrasies of the civilized mind. Human Nature is a comical examination of the trappings of desire in a world where both nature and culture are idealized. |

Did Mary not deserve to know the truth about the baby she was carrying?
If Jesus was God himself born in the flesh, didn’t Mary, of all humans on earth, deserve to know the nature of the child she was carrying? Bearing in mind that God is not a God of disorder, when she received the annunciation, why wasn’t she told she would be giving birth to God in the flesh, or to 1/3 of God, or that two other parts of the baby were up in heaven?. Why was Gabriel not sent to her with an accurate, clear, distinct, truthful message instead of this "coverup"?
Luk 1:31,32 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called THE SON of the highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Yoda: It wasn’t the holy spirit speaking. It was the angel gabriel telling her about the chld she was carrying. Why wasn’t she was told he was God?
Skave: You are 100% correct. It is clear. Which is why I’m asking folks that believe she was the mother of GOD.
Adam: Again, YES that’s my point. She knew she was carrying the CHRIST, not God.
Skeptik: Isn’t it though? The question is clear. People just don’t want to see the answer.
Thomas: I’ve been reading for 40 years. Please try reading the question.
Tiny: Thank you for understanding my question. Now, God IS her savior because it was he who provided his son as a ransom sacrifice.
C’mon folks. So far only 2 of you have understood the point I am trying to make. YES .. mary knew. She knew she was carrying the Messiah because that is what she was told. The question is, why is THAT what she was told and not that she was the mother of God. She didn’t have to be an intellectual. Given the grace with which she received the news, why is there any concern that she wouldn’t have been able to handle the truth, which is what some of you are implying.

Well she was woman and she didn’t speak engliish. So when they told her ‘you have a baby’ . she didn’t know what that english meant.

She did know.

The Spirit of the Lord is quite clear and distict. The Holy Ghost cannot be misunderstood.
She knew she carried the Messiah.

If he didn’t ask first, it was rape.

It is good she knew who the baby was that she was carrying, cos otherwise she might have been drinking and smoking while she was pregnant like some women do. And then Jesus would have come out all wrong and stuff. Which would have been bad with him being God and every thing.

Because God knows us all, he chose to tell Mary about Jesus in the best way suited for her. Maybe knowing the whole truth would have scared her or put her under a lot of pressure. Or people would have found out she was pregnant with Jesus, and they would have had her killed. There are many more circumstances as to why God may have chose not to tell her

She was told that she would bear the Son of God, Who would save His people from their sins. Seems clear enough to me
SKCave | Nov 19, 2009
it was made known to her
read the passage of her when she visits the temple
she is told her son will die and her heart will be pierced with a sword
Adam (of the wired) | Nov 19, 2009
When you say "deserve", do you mean that she earned the right through certain actions?
Perhaps her character was good enough compared to someone else? Who else?
Who would make the final decision about her merits?
.
Donut Tim | Nov 19, 2009
Um, it appears to be quite obvious she was told and Elizabeth knew as well. And then there’s that old dude at the Temple who knew and wouldn’t die until he saw the Messiah. Not sure what you think the "coverup" was or what exactly you think Mary was not told. Maybe if you could be more specific about what you think she should have been told?
RockOfAges | Nov 19, 2009
It’s interesting that no one seems to understand your question.
skeptik | Nov 19, 2009
She knew what was going on. They had been waiting for the Messiah for many years. She knew and pondered all those things in her heart.
You should read slower.
Son of God. Son of man. Born of God. Born for man.

Luk 1:46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
Luk 1:47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
She knew,….. if you look at Luke 1:47 she says that God is her Saviour.
And this is what Elizabeth said to Mary,
Luk 1:43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Now, what we take from the Bible (Luke 1) is:
An angel appeared to Mary. He said: "Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee. … He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest. … The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."
And Mary said: "Behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name."
And Simeon said in Mary’s presence in Luke 2: "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel."
I think that Mary, who conceived a son without the presence of a man, was informed accurately, clearly, distinctly and truthfully. We have to bear in mind that she was no 21st century intellectual woman but a simple young woman, almost a child, in about 0 AD. She was told that she would give birth to the son of God and how it would happen, and according to what we read knew well about the nature of her son.

People are either playing dumb or just not getting the point.
The angel did not say "The child you will bear is GOD", he said the child is "God’s SON".
Therefore if Jesus is GOD, then the angel lied to Mary.
lol- good one for use in the ministry.
